Shyness is nice and Shyness can stop you From doing all the things in life You’d like to So, if there’s something you’d like to try If there’s something you’d like to try Ask me I wont say no, how could I?
We celebrate the lives of the dead It’s like a man’s best party, only happens when he dies We gather ‘round to pay our respects While their souls are still searching for the light Searching for the light
Lately I’ve been stressing out about my future. The school year is looming ahead, and that means I’ll have to finally face the decisions I’ve been trying to put off. I was cleaning my room today, feeling kind of lost as I picked things up off the floor, and I found a scrap of paper peeking out from beneath my bed. When I read it, I suddenly remembered quickly scrawling the words onto paper as they fell from my English teacher’s mouth during one of our last days in class:
"Whatever you do here will take you wherever you need to go. You just have to put one foot in front of the other - and take your brain with you."
I sat on my bed with the piece of paper crumpled in my palm and cried. Sometimes a little reassurance from Mrs. Porter-Savoy is all you need.
